Wonder Worm Farm

The reason I got involved in vericulture is that I wanted a safe and healthy environment for my family and neighborhood. I wanted to know what I was breathing, eating, and touching. Whatever goes into the earth has to come out someway. I want to be able to enjoy my family for many years to come.

Wonder Worm farming fits into my life very well. The night crawlers (Wonder Worms) live in a climate controlled building with the proper temperature and moisture. The worms body is about 80% moisture so if the environment is too dry, wet, hot or cold the success will be limited. Worms are alive and need to be taken care of as any other livestock.

On harvest day I feed the mature worms, separate the eggs and the final product being the worm castings “Black Gold”. The worm castings are an organic fertilizer with no chemicals or odors.

Worm castings can be used to feed and improve the soil in your house plants or outside in the vegetable garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, planters and hanging baskets. Castings are sold in one gallon size bags and larger. If you have more questions visit us at the Burlington Farmers Market on

Thursday evenings from 3-7 p.m.

Happy Gardening from Wonder Worms
